An immersive experience at 113 Spring that reframes yoga as “Mental Yoga”—and lets you enter samādhi (the experience Yoga was created for) through MindSTILLness.
Yoga isn’t what most people think it is.
This is an evening to immerse in stillness, shifting Yoga from movement on the mat to stillness in the mind. This immersion is designed to bridge that gap—between reading about Samādhi and resting in it.
Event overview
The Story
We begin with a short cinematic story projected across 113’s canvas walls: The Untold Story of Yoga.
Rather than presenting yoga as posture, performance, or lifestyle, the film opens a wider frame. It moves through the worlds, tensions, and reinventions that shaped yoga over time—showing how what many now encounter in the modern U.S. as a studio-based wellness practice emerged from a much deeper search into consciousness, stillness, and revolution.
The story traces yoga through different historical and cultural environments, revealing how its meaning shifted across eras—through ritual, renunciation, teaching lineages, modern spiritual packaging, and today’s search for direct experience.
The aim is not to lecture, but to create the right context for what follows: to make visible the distance between what yoga is commonly presented as now and what it was actually pointing toward.
By the end of the film, the question is no longer “What style of yoga is this?” but: what was yoga originally for? That question opens the doorway into the TRANŚCEND LIVE experience.
The Experience
TRANŚCEND LIVE — guided MindSTILLness meditation.
An experiential container designed to teach you how easy it is to switch OFF your mind on its own (think: sleep-like calm in minutes, without forcing focus).
No effort, no watching your breath, not mindfulness.
Not a generic sound bath—this is an intentional sequence designed to cue a self-transcending response and renew the mind & body.
The Teaching
Then rest into Samādhi Pāda transmission: a specially created soundtrack where we’ve hand-selected key sūtras from Book 1 of the Yoga Sūtras and paired them with simple English commentary.
The audio combines these verses with clear explanation, tying Patanjali’s teachings on samādhi, non-attachment, and the settling of the mind directly to the state of MindSTILLness you just experienced.
Integration & Reflection
We close with space to sit, journal, and share what arose. You’ll also receive a complimentary journal provided by 113 Spring.
We’ll touch on the difference between practices built around an object of attention and MindSTILLness—where Samādhi, without an object of attention, allows for repeated moments in which mental activity fully ceases, the mind becomes completely still, and awareness remains.
