​At our next Supper Series event, Proxima's Co-Founder Daniyal Hussain will speak about China's biotech ecosystem.

​There’s been much heated debate about China’s emergence at the cost of American jobs and expertise. With BMS and Pfizer recently signing multi-year research and development deals worth billions, China’s prominence on the world stage has been amplified in tandem with concerns from US biotechs.

​Daniyal will discuss the Chinese market, its opportunities, and its challenges, as well as what US companies are doing to compete. He’ll also discuss recent deals in the space and what they mean for future collaboration with Chinese companies.

​Daniyal Hussain's Bio:

​Daniyal Hussain is a biotech, pharma, and healthcare strategist and business development executive. He currently works at GSK in the technology business development group. Previously, he was Senior Director of Innovation at Valo Health, a technology company built to transform the drug discovery and development process using human-centric data and AI-powered computation. Valo Health is a portfolio company of Flagship Pioneering. Prior to Valo, Daniyal was Associate Director at AstraZeneca where he helped developed their immuno-oncology portfolio.
