n8n Hardware Automation Hackathon with Atech - Copenhagen
Build a physical device that talks to an n8n workflow.
Who should come
Anyone curious about connecting hardware to automation. Developers, makers, n8n users and people who have never opened n8n are all welcome. You don't need n8n or hardware experience: the kickoff introduces both, and the Atech web editor gets you started without code.
n8n runs the automation: a sensor reading or a camera triggers a workflow, and the workflow can act on the device in return. Atech brings the hardware: a motherboard for each participant and a large set of modules to build with. The boards have WiFi and Bluetooth, so what you build can talk to n8n, an AI model, or any other system you already use.
What you'll learn
What n8n is and how a workflow works, if you are new to it
How to connect a device to an n8n workflow, so a sensor reading or a camera can trigger an automation, and a workflow can act on the device in return
How to build a working device from Atech modules
How to bring AI into the loop
What to expect
Kickoff: a short intro to n8n and the Atech hardware, plus a few ideas to get you going.
Form a team on the spot, or come with one. Up to 4 people per team.
Build your n8n workflow and your device side by side. Start in the Atech web editor to get a feel for the hardware. If you write code, move on to the SDK (pip install atech) for custom integrations, for example with n8n.
Anything that connects hardware, software and AI counts. There is no fixed theme. The one rule: your device can't be standalone. It has to talk to a software system.
Share: every team demos at the end. The winning team keeps a kit.
What to bring
Your laptop
An n8n account (a trial works), or your own self-hosted n8n
A USB-C cable. Atech brings some, but bring your own to be safe.
