Kim Stoveld at Keswick Cycle Paoli
The Philly Cycling Classic came back in August after ten years off, and one of the local women racing it was Kim Stoveld. She lives a few blocks from the start line, and she spent part of the race in the breakaway.
Kim didn't really get into bikes until she was 30. Now she races Category 1 for Automatic Racing and works as a nurse. She's won races in Belgium, Harlem and Tucson, and she's a big part of why her team got into the Classic.
She's coming to the Paoli shop to talk about all of it: what racing at that level is really like, what it's like being a woman in the sport, and how the Classic went.
You don't have to race to get something out of this. If you've ever thought you started too late, she's a good person to talk to. It's free and we'll have food, just register so we know how much to order. Bring questions!
