💗 Non-Icky Networking is for you if:
You love the part of networking events where you get to meet new people and find lifelong friends, but you hate that there’s only a few moments where you “click” with someone and the rest is just gross and transactional
You are looking for more friends and acquaintances who are creating positive social and environmental change
You have a goal in mind (like finding a job or getting support on a project), and as much as you’re excited to achieve that goal, you’re more excited to offer your own skills and support to others
You are ready to show up as a real human being, not a corporate robot
You want to truly learn about others and have real curiosity about the questions people are asking
You are willing to get vulnerable with strangers (aka new friends) or people you don’t yet know very well
You are excited about a thought-provoking, facilitated hour of deep connection followed by your own time + energy investment to follow up with your new friends
What will happen during Non-Icky Networking?
We’ll start with a speed round of introductions in random breakouts. Then, based on what you say during the event and/or what you wrote in your event sign-up, we’ll match you with people we think will be good buddies for you on your social and climate justice adventure.
Here are some things you may learn about your new friends:
📽️ Projects they are working on, from eliminating parking minimums to creating an artivism movement
⁉️ Questions they are asking, from changing power dynamics in the workplace to creating a new technology
🗯️ Collaborations they are looking for, from co-founder connections to VC investment to hiring/job searching to mutually spreading the word about what each of you is up to
Why the heck should I pay for Non-Icky Networking when there’s 1 zillion free ways to network?
First of all, you don’t have to; you can do whatever you want. However, not to brag but… okay fine to brag, Soapbox Project’s facilitation is S Tier. Many of our virtual events have birthed life-long friendships, game-changing partnerships, and unparalleled magic.
