Global Idea Lab #8: 熊本は九州から何を学べますか？
今回のセッションについて
これまでの活動を通じて見えてきたのは、熊本には人も、ビジネスも、クリエイターも、コミュニティも、物語も揃っているということ。まだ少し足りないのは、それらをつなぐ「網」、少なくとも県の外へ届く明確なメッセージです。今回は、このイメージと現実が九州の他県と比べてどう見えるのか、そして自分たちのためにも、地域全体のまとまりのためにも、どう整えていけるかを一緒に探ります。
今回のゲストは、九州全域をフィールドとするガイドでありSNSのプロフェッショナルでもあるWillさん。長年にわたり九州各地でディープなローカル体験を案内し、県の観光や情報発信の仕事にも携わってきました。熊本の可能性について彼の視点を共有してもらいながら、課題についても一緒に議論します。九州の中での熊本の現在地、そしてコミュニティメンバーとして、より繋がったローカルネットワークへの次の一歩をどう考えられるか。
そこからはグループディスカッションへ。彼の見方のどこがしっくりくるか、どこが少し違うと感じるか、そして熊本のメッセージに何を込めるべきか。最後にWillさんを交えて全体で議論し、気づきを掘り起こしながら、個人として、そしてコミュニティとして踏み出せる具体的なステップを考えます。

Global Idea Lab #8: What Can Kumamoto Learn from Kyushu?
As we've come to uncover, Kumamoto has the people, the businesses, the creators, the communities, the stories. What it still seems to slightly fall short with is the web connecting them, or at least a clear message carrying them beyond the prefecture. This event, we explore how this image and reality might stack up against other prefectures in Kyushu, and how we can better align ourselves for our own sake as well as the greater regional cohesion.
This session we welcome Will, an all-Kyushu guide and social media professional who has spent years leading deep local experiences across the region and working with prefectural governments on tourism and communication. He'll share his perspective on Kumamoto's potential as we discuss its obstacles — where we stand in Kyushu, and how we as community members could consider next steps towards more connected local networks.
From there we pivot to the group: where does his view land right, where does it feel a bit off, and what do we collectively think belongs in Kumamoto's message? We bring it all back together with Will for a larger discussion, uncovering insights, and close by looking at concrete steps we can take as individuals and as a community.

Will — An all-Kyushu guide originally from New York City, with years of experience leading deep local experiences across Kyushu. He handles official social media for Saga Prefecture, runs webinars for tour guides in Nagasaki & other regions, and works with prefectural governments and a Kyushu-wide DMO in tourism, media, and communication.
