COWTOPIA VI : A New Cowtopia
What kind of system do we want to become?
Cowtopia has always been a playful, participatory experience. This time, it isn't just the game that changes, the frame itself does too.
We're moving Cowtopia from a game into a practice: a space where metrics, meaning, people, and systems stay in ongoing dialogue rather than being optimised in isolation.
Every system we work in was inherited. We didn't design everything we stepped into and we won't be the last people to shape it. Cowtopia VI asks what happens when we begin to see ourselves not only as players but as stewards of what we will eventually leave behind for others.
A thriving system is one that can renew the people, relationships, and resources it depends on. Through play, participants will experience how their choices ripple forward, shaping what the next steward inherits.
The work is never finished, only tended.
Some questions don't have answers waiting to be found. They need to be explored. Together, we'll explore how we work together, what we choose to care for, and the futures we are creating, often without realising it.

Prerequisites for Attendees
Beginner to Advanced. No prior Cowtopia experience required. Newcomers are welcome, and returning Cowtopians will find new depth.
The only prerequisite is openness to curiosity, reflection, and collaborative play.
Outline / Structure
150 minutes
Every system we work in was inherited, not invented by us. Over 150 minutes, participants move through a living simulation of stewardship: recognising the systems already shaping the room, sensing what health means beyond performance alone, experiencing how interventions ripple forward and closing with a personal practice of tending rather than a fixed conclusion.
Participants will explore:
1. Inheriting the System
An orientation into Cowtopia's history and the systems already shaping the room before anyone makes a single decision.
2. Beyond Performance
Sensing how a system's health lives in metrics, meaning, people, and relationships together, rather than in any one measure alone.
3. Ripples of Stewardship
Making choices and experiencing directly how those choices change what the next steward inherits.
4. Tending, Not Finishing
Closing with reflection on what participants might tend differently, and what they leave behind for others.

Novelty
This chapter marks a deliberate evolution in the Cowtopia series.
Earlier chapters explored navigating chaos and complexity. Cowtopia VI turns the lens toward stewardship: not simply how we navigate a system, but what kind of system we leave behind for others.
The shift is from playing within a system to noticing our role in shaping what comes next.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will:
Notice the systems already shaping their work often without realising it.
Sense what "health" means in a system beyond performance metrics alone.
Recognise how their own actions ripple forward to future stewards.
Leave with a personal practice or question to keep tending, rather than a fixed takeaway.
