The Powerful AFF Artists Salon returns!

Artivism Fights Fascism & You're Invited

In solidarity with Fall of Freedom and a nationwide wave of creative resistance, join us for an intimate gathering to fuel the flames of our creativity in defiance of rising totalitarianism — and in service of building a future we imagine.

Art matters. Courage is contagious.

Together, we’re Powerful AFF.

Why now?

Between record-high book bans, plagiarism by LLMs, and ongoing attacks on artists, writers, educators, libraries, and public imagination, one thing is clear: art is powerful.

We’ll gather to discuss:

• Why is art and the written word so dangerous to people in power?

• What will it take to dream a safer, freer future into being?

• How can we sustain our creative practices and each other?

What to expect 🧙🔮✨

As we approach Samhain ("SOW-in") and the dark, feminine half of the year, it’s the perfect time to dip below the surface for reflection and gestation of a future where we can all be free.

After an opening ritual, we’ll break into groups, taking inspiration from banned books, and write dream spells to guide and anchor us during the months ahead.

Our goal:

To come away with inspiration, new connections, and next steps for navigating and shaping this moment together through artistic expression.

More Details:

Homemade food and herbal drinks will be served — enough to satisfy, so you can settle in and enjoy yourself.

$15 at the door (cash or Venmo) to help cover food costs (or as much as you are able to donate).

Space is limited, so please register if you’d like to join.

I look forward to welcoming you!

Your host,

Meredith Clinton
