Mobilising Climate Finance at Scale: Dragons' Den for Catalytic Investment
How can catalytic capital unlock climate investment at the speed and scale the climate crisis demands?
At COP31, join Nordic Development Fund (NDF) and the Investment Mobilisation Collaboration Alliance (IMCA) for an interactive Dragon’s Den-style session outside the Blue Zone.
Selected climate-focused funds will pitch their investment ideas to a panel of public and private financiers, donors, and development finance institutions. The event will focus on funds seeking concessional and catalytic capital to de-risk investments and crowd in private finance for innovative, high-impact climate solutions in emerging markets and developing countries.
The session will:
Put fund managers directly in dialogue with financiers
Bring forward promising investment concepts and test their investment logic
Explore pathways for collaboration, co-financing, and support
Enable an interactive discussion on risk, scale, and impact
Clarify what investors are looking for to unlock capital
Why it matters
Combining IMCA’s ambition to improve efficiency, coordination, and scale in blended finance with NDF’s experience in catalytic climate finance, the event will demonstrate how collaborative approaches can accelerate private climate investment in lower-income countries. It will also underscore the role of Nordic institutions and partners in driving innovation, convening diverse actors, and shaping practical solutions to mobilise private capital where it is most needed.
Building on the Nordic countries’ long-standing leadership in climate action, the event will foster exchange between fund managers, donors, DFIs, and investors, generate concrete investment opportunities, and reinforce IMCA’s role as a platform for turning climate finance ambition into investable action at speed and scale.
