About Event

Please join us for a tour of the City of Fairfield’s 1.5MWdc solar array at the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. This 5-acre project represents a significant step forward in our commitment to renewable energy and long-term financial stewardship, featuring a system of approximately 3,000 solar panels composed entirely of 100% US-made components.

Once operational, the array will generate roughly 2,000,000 kWh annually, offsetting 65% of the facility's electricity usage and is projected to deliver over $2.5 million in net lifetime savings after all capital costs are recovered. Beyond the fiscal benefits, this project marks major progress toward our sustainability goals by providing a carbon offset equivalent to the emissions of 250 Fairfield homes over the next 30 years. Construction is slated for completion summer of 2026, and we look forward to hosting a formal dedication ceremony to celebrate this milestone with the community.
