About Event

Build something real. Ship it in a week.

AgnesCode Build Challenge is a solo, online hackathon where you build anything you want using AgnesCode, Agnes AI's agentic coding tool. Games, apps, tools, automations, research assistants. If you can build it with an AI coding agent, it's fair game.

What is AgnesCode?
AgnesCode is Agnes AI's agentic coding tool, similar to Claude Code or Codex. It lets you build full projects through natural language, with Agnes AI models doing the heavy lifting. Agnes 2.0 Flash and Agnes 2.5 Flash are completely free to use inside AgnesCode.

Who can join
Anyone. All skill levels welcome. You do not need to be a professional developer. This is open to builders, students, hobbyists, and developers alike. First 50 registrants are eligible so register early.

Requirements to participate
Before submitting you must have an Agnes AI account, have AgnesCode installed, be a member of the Agnes AI Discord server (discord.gg/agnesai), and be following Agnes AI on X ().

Tracks
When submitting you will choose one track for your project. Judges score within each track's context, not against other tracks.

  • AI in Product: apps, tools, or websites people can actually use

  • AI in Automation and Infrastructure: workflows, scripts, deployment helpers, dev tools

  • AI in Creativity: games, generative art, creative tools, interactive experiences

  • AI in Research and Learning: research assistants, study tools, knowledge systems, educational apps

How it works
Register on this page before the cap hits 50. Once the build week opens on Aug 20, start building your project using AgnesCode with Agnes 2.0 Flash or Agnes 2.5 Flash. Projects must be started during the build week, pre-built projects are not allowed. Push your work to a public GitHub repository, record a short demo video, and submit before Aug 26 11:30 PM SGT. The submission form will be shared on the Agnes AI Discord server when the build week begins. Make sure you are in the server and following #hackathon-chat so you do not miss it.

What to submit

  • Public GitHub repository link (must be public at time of submission)

  • YouTube unlisted demo video, 2 to 3 minutes maximum, must show the project actually running

  • AgnesCode diagnostics file exported from the app as proof of Agnes model usage

  • Project description covering what you built, who it is for, what problem it solves or what experience it creates, and key technical decisions you made. A few solid paragraphs, not a one-liner.

  • Short answers on what your project does well, where it breaks or falls short, and what you would build next with two more weeks

How projects are judged
3 judges will independently score each valid submission across 5 pillars and scores will be averaged. Each pillar is scored 1 to 5 for a maximum total of 25 points.

  • Problem or Purpose: why does this project exist and what would success look like?

  • Approach and Use of AgnesCode: did you use the agent thoughtfully and meaningfully?

  • Evidence it Works: does the project actually function based on the repo and demo?

  • Constraints and Honesty: do you know what you built and where it breaks?

  • Creativity or Impact: is it interesting or useful beyond the hackathon context?

The guiding principle for judges is that a modest claim proven beats a grand claim asserted. Polish alone does not win.

Prizes

  • 1st place: AgnesCode Pro, 1 month ($100 value)

  • 2nd place: AgnesCode Plus, 1 month ($20 value)

  • 3rd place: AgnesCode Plus, 1 month ($20 value)

Disqualification
Submissions will be automatically disqualified if the diagnostics file is missing or shows no Agnes model usage, the GitHub repository is private or missing, the demo video is missing or does not show the project running, or the registration requirements were not completed before submitting.
