Ryuutama with Erika
This is an RPG Fest event; we'll be playing an in-person tabletop roleplaying game with a small group. The game will be hosted in Western Queens. Come prepared to roleplay!
The location of the games will be shared in private channels in our community Discord server. We'll share the link when you sign up!
Ryuutama
The Annual Summer Baking competition is in full swing! A group of adventurers (You) are hired to find the elusive golden apple growing in the deep woods for Granny Nami. She is convinced the apple will be the secret ingredient needed to win this year’s baking contest, but cannot go into the woods herself due to rumors of a group of neko-goblins lurking in there. Will the ragtag group of adventurers make it through and get the apple? Play to find out!
Dubbed “Ghilbi Oregon Trail”, Ryuutama is a very popular Japanese TRPG (Tabletalk RPG) set in a western style medieval fantasy world. The game will have the dangers of an Oregon Trail game (disease, resource management, difficult terrain) and combat that is familiar if you’ve played JRPG’s like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, or Persona. Ryuutama emphasizes travel, community, harmony, and friendship, so combat will not be a core focus of the game.
This is my first time as a GM, so we will be running an introductory level 1 adventure which will also be beginner friendly! Ryuutama was developed as a TRPG teaching game for a Tabletop Gaming Cafe, so this will be easy to pick up if you’ve never played a TTRPG game before.
If anyone is familiar with Fabula Ultima, Ryuutama is the base dice mechanic for that game.
