​In the Philippines, palengkes (wet markets) are community spaces where people exchange goods, services, and often have conversations in town.

This September 14, bring your baskets with a book and story to Essex Market for our first social gathering. We will exchange answers on "What does being Filipino/a/x mean to you?"

​Come prepared to share your chosen book or item, and tell us how it connects with and embraces your identity. No pressure to bring it physically, but tell us a memory. Grab your favorite snacks or drinks when you arrive.

We have limited space, so we encourage you to reserve your spot ASAP.
