Grants, Contracts & Commercialisation: Legal Essentials for Founders
Securing funding and new commercial opportunities is exciting, but the agreements founders sign early can have long-term implications for their business, intellectual property and ability to grow.
Join Emma Walczak, Principal of Trinitas Legal Services, for a practical lunchtime workshop exploring the key legal considerations founders should understand when navigating grants, commercial and collaboration agreements, IP and commercialisation.
With more than 15 years' experience advising businesses, Emma will cut through the legal theory and focus on what founders actually need to know, from understanding obligations attached to grant funding and spotting risky contract terms, to protecting your ability to commercialise your ideas and knowing what is genuinely worth negotiating.
During the session, you'll learn how to identify common risks in funding and collaboration agreements, navigate confidentiality and information-sharing requirements, avoid unexpected financial or operational exposure, and recognise legal or governance issues that could become barriers to future investment, partnerships and growth.
This workshop is delivered by Spacecubed, and designed for our current Sprint program cohorts including AI Founder Sprint, City of Perth Sprint and AI Fellowship, and is also open to founders and members of the wider community.
