Stanford Listen to the Silence Conference
Listen to the Silence is Asian American Students' Association (AASA)’s annual Asian American issues conference, founded in 1995 to increase the visibility of Asian American issues and educate both the Stanford community and beyond. Since then, its mission has grown to empower students to take action in their communities and work toward collective liberation by providing tools, resources, and space for meaningful dialogue.
This year’s theme, “Foundations First: Building Community on Shared AAPI Experiences,” reflects a return to the core of that mission. While our histories are rooted in activism, our activism is grounded in the interpersonal experiences that connect us. Before we can mobilize, advocate, and lead, we must first understand, support, and show up for one another. By centering community as the foundation, we hope to reexamine what it means to belong, to care, and to grow together.
