About Event

You're not too old, and you're not too late.

The Beginners Swim Summit is a free online event for adults learning to swim for the first time — or getting back in the water after years away. No jargon, no race talk, no assumption that you can already do laps.

What we'll cover:
🫧 Surviving your first three sessions — why almost everyone gets gassed in one length, and why that doesn't mean you're bad at this
🌬️ The breathing thing, finally explained — the one skill that makes swimming feel calm instead of panicked
😰 Nerves, lane anxiety, and getting in the water at all — practical advice from instructors who teach beginners every day
🗓️ Becoming someone who swims — building the habit that survives the weeks motivation dips

Meet Our Beginners Swim Summit Speakers:

Christian Anseaume

Founder of SwimtoFly, the "learn to swim in 3 steps" method used by beginners and aquaphobic adults around the world through its app and a YouTube channel with 340,000+ subscribers and 30M+ views. A French swimming educator with 20+ years of experience and a Master's in Sport Education, he was ranked among the top 100 French national swim teachers — and is an Ironman finisher himself.

Beth Davis

Founder of SwimBoulder in Boulder, Colorado, where she has taught private swim lessons since 1993 with a specialty in helping adults overcome fear of the water. A former professional triathlete and Hawaii Ironman competitor, she’s a certified Water Safety Instructor and ASCA-certified coach whose whole-person, individually paced approach views swimming as a path to confidence, self-discovery, and lifelong fitness — guiding hundreds of adults into the water while sharing their journeys through her long-running Courageous Adults Learning to Swim blog. Beth believes the instructor’s role is to create a space where each student feels seen, progresses at their own pace, and discovers capabilities that extend far beyond the pool. https://swimboulder.com/

Tim Swim — Confident Swimming

Founder of Confident Swimming and Oxford's adult swimming lesson specialist, with 17+ years of full-time, one-to-one teaching of adult beginners and improvers. Always in the water with his students — never coaching from the poolside — he built a three-stage system that starts with relaxation, balance, and coordination before stroke mechanics, and shares his lessons with a wide audience on TikTok and YouTube. He also runs swimming retreats, online coaching, and adult swim teacher training.

Cori Myka

Co-founder of Seattle's Orca Swim School and creator of Calm Within Adult Swim, an online program built exclusively for fearful adult non-swimmers. Teaching for over 25 years, she was among the first instructors certified in the Miracle Swimming method and went on to develop her own "Foundations of Change" approach, built on the idea that learning to swim as an adult is 80% mental and 20% physical. https://adultswimlesson.com/

Head coach and founder of Swimmingly, a UK adult-swim coaching business specializing in nervous beginners and water confidence. A Total Immersion certified coach — the only one in the North of the UK — she rediscovered swimming in her forties after struggling to find adult lessons that worked, went on to swim the full 10.5-mile length of Lake Windermere, and has since coached hundreds of adults past fear and panic in the water.

Who this is for: total beginners of all ages, adults who never learned, returners who haven't swum since school, and anyone who watches the lap lane and thinks "I could never." Especially you.

Who it's not for: triathletes chasing a faster 100m. You're great — this just isn't that :)

Hosted by Splashling, the free app for building a swimming habit (not your fastest laps).
