Harvard Chess Club: GM David Smerdon

​David will host a talk this Tuesday, October 27th, from 6-7:15pm in Maxwell Dworkin 234. He will show a few of his games, talk about his journey through chess and academia, and also answer any questions or maybe play a few games! This is an amazing opportunity to learn some chess (or econ!) from the best, and we will also have Joe's Pizza.

​David is the fourth player ever from Australia to earn the GM title, and has played on the Australian Olympiad team since 2004. In addition to being an incredible chess player, David is also an accomplished economist, earning the John Monash Scholarship and serving as a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.
