Oakland is doing democracy differently, and you can help make the closing celebration special.
On Sunday, October 4, the Oakland Civic Assembly wraps up its final weekend. We’re bringing together a small East Bay Civic Hub volunteer crew to help celebrate the assembly members and the work they’ve done together.
What helping looks like
We need a few people to help set up, move things into place, and lend a hand during the celebration. Food and music are already covered. If you’re excited about decorations, a democracy cake, or festive mocktails, there’s room to bring a creative idea too. The event is alcohol-free.

Sunday, October 4, at Juntos Fruitvale
Celebration planned for 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Volunteers may be needed earlier for setup; we’ll confirm your arrival time and role directly.
This signup is specifically for volunteers. The celebration is for assembly members, their families, and the organizing team, and space for additional helpers is limited.
