Reflection as Resistance: A Behavioural Approach to Difficult Conversations, Voice, and Psychological Safety
For faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community members working across differences. Reflection is often treated as an individual, internal activity; this hands-on workshop facilitated by Dr. Lynne K. Lets'ela reframes it as a collective, relational process you can use in real time to facilitate dialogue, support ethical decision-making, and strengthen psychological safety. You'll leave with a five-step reflective cycle: Pause, Notice, Name, Make Meaning, Choose, for responding to challenging moments as they happen. Through a behavioural lens, we'll explore how people interpret difficult situations and influence one another through words, actions, and silence, and you'll practise interrupting automatic reactions, examining assumptions, and choosing responses that support constructive dialogue and meaningful participation.
