Ursprung Retreat IV: Building Creative Communities
This January, we will experiment with instantiating a creative community for three days, where thoughtful doers of all stripes can come to create together in a single space, and share their experience of the creative process with one another.
Calling on artists, writers, dancers, filmmakers, scientists, musicians, poets, engineers, designers, builders - whatever your craft, come and work on it alongside others - perhaps those right next-door to your domain, perhaps those from far far afield. Work on it / share it / combine it / remix it / get inside each other's creative processes. What does the creative state feel like, and how can we induce it? What sets highly creative people apart? What more can occur when you bring them together?
This time we will have a fairly large hut deep in the snowy mountains of Austria, with separate spaces for uninterrupted silent creating, for collaborative and chaotic creating, for sharing meals, for discussing late into the night, and of course for hiking in the wilderness.

Location: a cosy chalet in Vorarlberg, Austria.
P.S. those who wish to come earlier are welcome to join us for 5 days of co-working in the hut before the retreat.

We welcome applications from creative and thoughtful individuals from all disciplines, backgrounds and ages. If you seem like a good fit, you'll be invited for a short interview to get to know each other.
Pricing
Ursprung is currently funded entirely by its participants. We therefore have a tiered pricing scheme:
Discounted 250€
We really want the retreat to be as accessible as possible to those from the arts, humanities and creative professions. We therefore have a limited number of spots reserved for creatives who couldn't afford it otherwise. Don't hesitate to ask for it and justify your situation - we truly want you here!
Student 350€ (PhD 450€)
For students and those on low income, no matter the discipline.
Professional 550€
For those who work. Your contribution makes this retreat possible and accessible to truly diverse cohort from all walks of life.
Supporter 800€
For those who can afford it, we would be highly grateful for your support to make the continuation of the ursprung project possible. Let us know if you want to contribute a different amount. We can give you an invoice for you or your organisation.
How We Operate
Ursprung is community-funded and mission-driven. We're a small team building a close-knit, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational creative family through our retreats and events.
Ticket prices are designed to cover our actual costs - venue, meals, materials - and fair compensation for the significant organizational work involved. We're not yet a registered nonprofit, but we are not profit-motivated: any surplus is reinvested into improving future gatherings, supporting community projects, and making our events more accessible.
