International Open-Source LLM Builders Summit
The second edition of the Open-Source LLM Builders Summit will take place on 9th February 2026 at EPFL Lausanne, right before the Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD).
The event is organized by the Swiss AI Initiative, coordinated by the EPFL AI Center and ETH AI Center. The summit will bring together leading international initiatives developing open foundation models, as well as infrastructure providers, researchers, and policymakers, to chart the path toward global, open, and collaborative AI development.
This year’s focus is threefold:
Highlighting progress from major open-source efforts
Sharing infrastructure access opportunities for large-scale training
Defining long-term models of international collaboration for AI research and governance
The summit welcomes contributors from research, government, and industry who are actively building transparent, multilingual, and mission-aligned AI systems for the public good. Participation is free, but registration is required. Space is limited and registration is subjected to approval prior confirmation.
