Angel Island hike
Join us for another Saturday adventure, a hike at Angel Island (it's a combination of these two AllTrails trails: 1, 2).
The hike will be moderately challenging and take about 4:30 to 5 hours (depending on the group's pace). We'll hike up to the summit and come down to explore the island's perimeter.
No carpooling for this hike, as it's easily accessible via public transit and by road.
What to Expect:
We will start from the Ferry Building Ferry Terminal at 10:15 a.m. (the first ferry of the day), hike through Angel Island, and return to the Ferry Terminal by 5:50 p.m. (the last ferry returning to SF). The ferry costs $9.50 each way with a Clipper Card—everyone pays for their own tickets.
Stunning panoramic views of SF city, the Bay, and other Bay Area cities from Angel Island.
If it's cloudy and non-foggy, some stunning views.
The trail includes wildflowers, wildlife, and forest. It also includes accessible beaches, missile batteries, military camps, and gorgeous vista points. Optionally, we'll take a slight detour to visit the Angel Island Immigration Station/Museum.
Gusts of wind at times.
Dogs are not permitted on the island.
