The Capablanca Club | An Evening of Chess (5 August)

​The Capablanca Club convenes in Dubai for an evening of chess on Wednesday 5 August at eight o'clock in the evening.

​Members are reminded: Invitation is necessary. Black tie is optional. Prompt arrival is expected. The Chairman has, for the seventeenth consecutive year, threatened to give a speech, and may or may not be persuaded against it.

​No standard is required and none is assumed. Boards are provided. Members are not obliged to win, or to play, or to speak.

​The Evening:
8:00pm: Arrival, and the room settles.
8:30pm: Play begins.
10:30pm: Play continues, for those still inclined.
11:00pm: The evening closes.
