Ready to go offshore racing but not sure if you’ve got the right kit? Get the Offshore Women Kit List

From how many pairs of underwear to pack, to choosing the right period products, deciding between a second pair of boots or waterproof socks with Crocs, picking the best wipes, or figuring out how to manage contact lenses, medication, and contraception — the questions are endless.

The truth is: the right kit can make or break your performance, comfort, and safety at sea. That’s why this power-packed session is designed by women, for women who are serious about offshore racing.

We’ll cut through the clutter, share tried-and-tested gear recommendations, and reveal insider tips seasoned female sailors swear by. You’ll hear from four incredible offshore sailors, who between them have clocked over 200,000 nautical miles, as they share their go-to gear secrets and answer your questions live.

Featuring:

  • Simone Talfourd – Round-the-Worlder on the Clipper 17/18 Race, Offshore sailor, Polar Adventurer, Ocean Rower and Guinness World Record holder.

  • Dani Devine – Round-the-Worlder On-Board Reporter on the Clipper 17-18 Race, 5 legs on the 19-20-21-22 race. Freelance for SailGP, Malizia Vendee Globe Campaign & World Match Racing Tour

  • Dee Oakley - Round-the-Worlder on the Clipper 13-14 Race, and multi-legger on subsequent races with total accumulated 77,000nm. 3 RORC Fastnet Races, 1st in Clipper Class for the Centenary Edition

Hosted by:
Sandra Marichal – Ocean Racer on Clipper Race and Volvo65/70, Expedition Sailing on Challenge 72, Team Coordinator & Campaign Manager

You’ll leave knowing exactly what to pack, what to skip, and how to feel confident, comfortable, and race-ready in any conditions. Plus, the session will be recorded and you’ll get The Offshore Women Kit List to keep and use on your own adventures.

This event is FREE and organised in support of The Magenta Project, a non-profit established in 2015 after the all-female Team SCA’s campaign in the Volvo Ocean Race. Today, TMP works towards greater equity and inclusion for women in sailing and the marine industry, dismantling barriers that hinder full participation and advancement.

Donations are welcome to support The Magenta Project and more women in sailing.
