Why this night, and why now
Most AI events are workshops, pitch nights, or panels. This isn't one of those. It's a room of practitioners, builders, leaders, and the genuinely curious — coming together to think out loud about a question that gets lost in most AI conversations: what does it mean to build technology that serves people first?
The centrepiece is a fireside conversation with Brian Hickling about Grace — an AI system he built after losing his wife to cancer. It's a story about grief, possibility, and what becomes possible when we design AI to lighten the load on people in their hardest moments.
How the night unfolds
Arrival & connections — name tags, colour-matched networking groups, and intentional intros (not random milling around)
Fireside with Brian Hickling — the Grace story, and what it teaches us about building AI with humanity at the centre
Small-group conversations — guided by your feedback and in groups designed around what you're working on and who you're looking to meet
Open networking — with the people you've already started conversations with
We look forward to connecting with you!
