About the EP
It's A Crystal: A Labyrinth Tribute was initiated and executive produced by Deidre Muro, for whom Labyrinth has been a favorite since childhood. The EP covers five David Bowie songs from the film — each one a different shade of his genius. Bowie had always wanted to make music for a children's film, and what he delivered was something far stranger and more lasting than anyone anticipated.
Pink Flamingo Rhythm Revue appears on the EP's first single "Underground" (out now), and Damon Daunno fronts the iconic single "Magic Dance" — both appearing alongside Violet Sands on "Chilly Down." Deidre & the Dark collaborates on "As the World Falls Down," which Bowie himself called "the prettiest tune in the movie" — a sweeping ballad written for the film's dream-sequence masquerade ball. Production and arrangements are by Muro's longtime collaborators Derek Muro and Zach Abramson.
