About Event

From North Bay Transit Riders

Transit agencies in the lower Bay Area counties face major funding shortfalls that could lead to severe service cuts. Two regional ballot measures planned for November 2026 would prevent cuts and improve service—but first, over 200,000 signatures are needed to qualify them for the ballot.

We will travel together to San Francisco to help gather signatures and support this effort.

Travel Plan (Southbound Trip)

We will take SMART Train Trip #5 (southbound) and then the ferry to San Francisco.

  • Depart: Santa Rosa Downtown Station — 9:43 AM

  • Arrive: Larkspur Ferry Terminal — 10:51 AM

  • Ferry Departure: 11:30 AM

  • Arrive: San Francisco Ferry Building — 12:05 PM

We will wear name tags with our names and “North Bay Transit Riders.”

You are welcome to join us at any point along the route:

  1. Downtown Santa Rosa SMART Station (before 9:43 AM departure)

  2. Any SMART station along the southbound route (Train Trip #5)

  3. Larkspur Ferry Terminal (before the 11:30 AM ferry)

  4. San Francisco Ferry Building (12:05 PM arrival)-

  5. We will meet at the entrance to the Ferry Building facing the Embarcadero.

San Francisco needs to pass both the Stronger Muni for All (San Francisco parcel tax) and Connect Bay Area (five-county sales tax) transit measures in November to prevent service cuts, and you can gather signatures for both at the same time! We will have both petitions available at this event.
