About Event

Join us for a night of bluffing, deductive reasoning, and sleuthing. Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game in the tradition of Mafia and Werewolf, with more depth and one major improvement: players who are eliminated stay active in the game. The dead keep talking, keep scheming, and still have a final vote that can decide the outcome.

Each player secretly receives a character with a unique ability. Most are townsfolk trying to identify the demon among them. A few are evil and working to stay hidden. Over a series of in-game days and nights, players share information (true or not), form alliances, and vote on who to execute. A Storyteller runs the game and guides new players through it, so no prior experience is needed.

We’ll play several scripts over the course of the evening, all beginner-friendly. If you’d like to get a feel for the game beforehand, there are many recorded playthroughs on YouTube.

Dark academia attire is encouraged but entirely optional. We'll have some seltzers, tea, and snacks to share!

Ashton Hadj-Alouane is our local Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy whose work focuses on relationships of all kinds: couples, families, siblings, and friends. She loves nothing more than paying attention to and playing with the unspoken patterns that shape how people relate to one another, helping people notice and change those patterns. You can find her at Ours events probably sitting on the floor, listening intently to someone's anecdote, observing how everyone else responds as well.

A lifelong gamer and nerd, Ashton facilitates Blood on the Clocktower, Dungeons & Dragons, and the occasional board game. For her, games are a playful and meaningful way for people to connect, communicate, and understand each other a little better. Before becoming a therapist, she worked as a French teacher and classical singer. Outside of work, she’s also an enthusiastic fan of anime and video games, and loves cooking Mediterranean food with her Tunisian husband.
