Zimbabwean Contemporary Sculpture - Dominic Benhura and Studio [Preview]

​Join us for the exclusive opening preview of a sculptural exhibition at the Marin Art and Garden Center, presented by Slab of Africa and House of Stone.

​Join us for an intimate evening of drinks, light bites, and a private walk through the gardens, where works by Dominic Benhura - one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated sculptors, and artists from his studio are unveiled.

​This special preview features a selection of sculptures recently arrived from Zimbabwe and offers an early glimpse of a larger exhibition that will continue to expand as additional works arrive later this summer.

​Known for their warmth, movement, and celebration of family and human connection, Benhura’s sculptures invite conversation between art, landscape, and community. Set throughout the gardens, the pieces can be experienced outdoors, among natural light, trees, and open space.

​Guests will enjoy first access to the collection before the public opening.

Slab of Africa represent a collective of talented artists from Zimbabwe and help represent and sell their work on the international market.

​House of Stone is a nonprofit organization, and proceeds from its sculpture sales support sustainable development initiatives for children and families in Zimbabwe.
