Future Film: A Deep Dive into AI Workflows with Ron Rauch
Many of you have been asking about this one for a while. This week, we finally get the deep dive.
Ron Rauch has been part of the Future Film community for a long time now, and every time he shares what he’s been working on, the requests to get him up to present just keep coming. That time is finally here.
Ron is a veteran VFX editor and technologist who has spent three decades working through major shifts in post production, from Avid and editorial VFX pipelines to the AI assisted tools he is building now. His credits include Grimm, I Am a Virgo, and HBO’s DTF St. Louis, where he recently completed work as a visual effects editor.
What makes Ron especially valuable to learn from is that he has lived through multiple generations of post production change, and he is now applying that experience to the AI assisted workflows that are starting to reshape the field.
The focus of this session will be his VFX Dashboard and Red Pen Tools, two of the most refined pieces of what he’s been developing and the work most directly relevant to editors working with AI. We’ll get to see what’s actually possible when someone with deep post production experience starts building with these new tools in mind.
Ron has a lot more in his arsenal too, including AI workflows built with Claude Code, a native Mac animation tool, Unreal and ComfyUI MCP servers, and more.
The tools are changing fast, but the job is still the job: serve the story, support the director’s vision, and find better ways to get the work done.
Browse Ron’s portfolio before the session, come with questions, and we’ll let the Q&A go where the energy takes us.
This is one you do not want to miss.
