About Event

Join us to gather signatures for Connect Bay Area, the five-county regional transit funding measure!

An East Bay contingent will be heading down to Viva CalleSJ, an event drawing more than 100,000 people that transforms stretches of San José streets into car-free spaces for a day. We'll be catching the Orange line train that arrives at Berryessa BART at 10:25am. Please meet in the first/front car and arrive early so you don't miss the train! The train departs:

  • Richmond BART at 9:03am

  • Downtown Berkeley BART at 9:16am

  • MacArthur BART at 9:24am

  • Bay Fair BART at 9:49am

  • Fremont BART at 10:07am

If you're taking the Yellow line, please get to MacArthur BART before 9:24am to transfer to our train. If you're taking the Blue line, please get to Bay Fair BART before the 9:49am to transfer to our train.

The event lead (Kaleo) plans to get on at 19th St. BART so don't fret if you get on earlier and can't find him!

We'll training first-time signature gatherers and handing out petition supplies on BART along the trip to San Jose. If it'll be your first time gathering, you can complete an online training in advance by reading our training guide then completing this form).

Upon arriving at Berryessa BART, we'll hop on the 77 bus and arrive at the Mexican Heritage Plaza activity hub. From there, we'll spread out across Viva CalleSJ to gather signatures and have an optional reconvening with other volunteers. Location and time TBD.

No experience necessary. You just need to be 18 years old to gather signatures.  If you're under 18, let us know at connectbayarea26@gmail.com as there are many other ways to be involved and help! Event hosted by Seamless Bay Area and Transbay Coalition in support of Connect Bay Area Transit.
