Dads for All PGH Service: Vacant Lot Groundwork & Green Up
We're dads — we get the job done. And a Northside neighborhood needs our help clearing an overgrown lot along California Ave. Community leaders would like to use it as a gathering spot to have events and screen movies.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
We'll be weed whacking and bagging tall weeds, installing a few small flower boxes, and hanging planters along the edges of the lot. The lot sits within a well-maintained part of the neighborhood and is adjacent to a bus stop used by commuters and families. Greening up the lot will have a big impact on the community and its residents.
CAN I BRING MY KIDS/PARTNER?
All partners are welcome. Given that power tools will be involved, we suggest only bringing kids age 12+
WHAT SUPPLIES WE'LL PROVIDE
We'll have 3 weedwhackers on site, contractor bags, shears, and planting materials. We will also have bug spray and first aid on site.
WHAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING
Dads should wear gloves, boots, and clothing appropriate for outdoor yard work. If you'd like, feel free to bring your own safety glasses, ear protection, rake, broom, drill, or hand tools for flower box assembly.
