Spring Lake Stroll - Vermont
This event is free to attend, with optional donations welcomed.
Let's celebrate the first few days of spring - you'll still need your layers and microspikes, but we can dream of ice melt and snowdrops! We’ll enjoy this wide, flat trail while creating new friendships and appreciating the expansive views of Lake Champlain.
While this out and back hike can be up to 6.2 miles, we'll plan to walk out for 2 hours before returning to the parking area. The route is flat and we may find we cover more miles than expected. However, we will prioritize the comfort and safety of those walking and may turn around earlier depending on conditions and how folks are feeling. We always hike to the pace of the slowest person.
Because this path is exposed with water on both sides at times, it can feel colder than expected. Plan to wear winter layers with a good wind breaker or shell to stay comfortable. Microspikes are needed as ice can build up on the walking surface. There are no bathrooms at this trailhead.
We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them. If you require a service dog to attend, please let us know and we’ll collaborate with you on how to keep you both comfortable and hydrated at this event.
