Above the Fray, Beyond Balance
Join us at 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the EY office. Let’s talk about Normalizing dialogues about family-life pressures on women in cyber.
In the dynamic field of cybersecurity, professionals face not only the challenges of their careers but also the deeply personal journey of starting a family, caring for young children, caring for aging elders, community commitments, immigrating and adjusting. Join us as we explore the importance of normalizing conversations surrounding pressures and stresses women face within the cybersecurity community. We will talk about topics that women face, such as maternity leave, parenting stresses, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), caring for elderly family members, etc. We will openly talk about the challenges of balancing career demands and family priorities. By delving into personal narratives and professional insights, we shed light on the experiences of women who have reflected on when to start a family, prioritize family over career, or bravely confronted IVF challenges while pursuing successful careers in cybersecurity. Through these dialogues, we uncover the need for open and supportive discussions about women personal commitments such as parenting within the cybersecurity industry. By normalizing these conversations and highlighting the stories of women who have thrived in both their personal and professional lives, we can create inclusive environments that empower individuals to navigate both their professional and personal aspirations with confidence and support.
