Join WISTA Malta for a unique maritime experience in collaboration with Tug Malta, offering an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the vital role tug boats play in our port operations.
This event provides a rare opportunity to observe tug boat manoeuvres first-hand during a tour of Malta’s port. Following the tour, we will host a joint presentation and discussion featuring industry leaders sharing insights into professional journeys, salvage operations, and future career opportunities for women within the sector.
The experience will conclude with a networking reception hosted by Tug Malta.

Critical Information & Requirements
Limited Capacity: This event is strictly limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. It is open only for full members of WISTA Malta.
Meeting Point: Tug Malta Ltd offices, 37, Sir Luigi Preziosi Square, Floriana.
Transport: Organised transport will be provided from the Floriana offices to the embarkation point and back.
Attire: For safety reasons, attendees must wear flat, closed shoes and trousers.
Deadline & Documentation: All requirements must be completed by the end of April. Once your registration is confirmed, WISTA Malta administration will provide you with the necessary links.
Featured Speakers
Anna Maria Darmanin is the Secretary General of the European Tugowners Association (ETA), representing over 80 tug owners across 26 countries. A former Vice President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), she has extensive experience in maritime policy and clean energy. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta and an RYA YachtMaster Instructor.
Malcolm Custo is the CEO of Tug Malta Ltd and a board member of the Malta Maritime Forum (MMF). With a background as a Certified Public Accountant and extensive experience at KPMG, he has been instrumental in the growth and privatisation of Tug Malta since 2004. He currently chairs the Port Infrastructure Sub-Committee.
