đŸ‡»đŸ‡ª (24 Dec-3 Jan) Venezuela II — ChoronĂ & New Year
View Full Trip Details on Pangea Trips
A different kind of Pangea trip
Venezuela II is a test of something we'd like to do more of: small, loose trips to places that are hard to organize on your own, with people from the Pangea community. We pick the base and handle the vetting and the introductions. You choose your nights, and we connect you with everything you need to book.
Where and when
24 to 31 December in ChoronĂ, a colonial village on Venezuela's Caribbean coast inside Henri Pittier National Park. Then back in Caracas from 31 December to 3 January. Dates are flexible: join for any part of that window, with a two-night minimum in ChoronĂ.
Where you stay
A small guesthouse (a posada) in ChoronĂ, with breakfast included. Rooms have air conditioning and private bathrooms with hot water, and there's a backup generator and Starlink WiFi, so power cuts aren't a worry. Playa Grande is about a 15-minute walk, and the malecĂ³n, with its restaurants and the boats out to other beaches, is about 10 minutes away. We share the posada's details when you apply. Prices, paid directly to the posada:
Your own room: $170 per night
Sharing a room with one double bed: $90 per person per night
A room with two beds, for two people: $110 per person per night
A room with three beds, for three people: $87 per person per night
Happy to share a bed with a partner or friend? There are more options, from $65 per person per night, and a few extra beds at a second posada nearby. Ask us. Two-night minimum. Payment: 50% to the posada to reserve your room, and the other 50% when you arrive. Rooms are limited in one of the busiest weeks of the year on this coast; if a room type sells out, we'll tell you what else is available.
What there is to do
We'll help arrange these on the ground. Prices are paid directly:
Boat trips to nearby beaches (Chuao, Cepe, Uricao and others): about $10–20 per person, round trip
A two-tank dive at Cepe with a local dive center, gear included: about $120
A beginner try-dive: about $120
Snorkeling on the boat days: ask us
Getting there
ChoronĂ is a few hours by road from Caracas. Typical prices:
A private car for up to four people: from about $200 round trip
A van for up to fifteen people: about $600 round trip
Buses run too
If others arrive the same day, we'll put you in touch so you can share, and we'll help you work out what makes sense for your dates.
How booking works
Apply and tell us your dates and room preference. We review every application and check availability with the posada before we accept you. Once we've confirmed your room, you're committed to the trip.

Travel insurance is compulsory
Send us proof at least 14 days before you arrive.
