🍏 Al-Aafiyah Pt 2: Beyond “Be Kind” - Understanding & Responding to Bullying in Schools
🍏 Beyond “Be Kind”
Part 2 of the Al-Aafiyah Professional Development Series for Educators
Presented by Ruh, in collaboration with ISAC, with the generous support of Humaniti Foundation
Led by Runda Ebied (OT), Pediatric Occupational Therapist at Ruh, with over a decade of experience working directly with schools, teachers, and students.
“Be kind” is an important message - but responding effectively to bullying requires more.
Educators are often among the first people to witness changes in student behaviour, shifting peer dynamics, exclusion, conflict, or signs that a student may no longer feel safe within their school environment. Yet bullying can be complex to identify and even more difficult to respond to in ways that protect students, address harm, and support healthier relationships moving forward.
Beyond “Be Kind”: Understanding & Responding to Bullying in Schools is a focused two-hour virtual professional development workshop designed to help educators move beyond general anti-bullying messaging and develop a more practical understanding of how to recognize, respond to, and address bullying within school communities.
Building on the foundation established during Al-Aafiyah: Towards Schoolwide Wellbeing, this second session will continue equipping educators with practical, thoughtful, and compassionate approaches to supporting students and strengthening schoolwide wellbeing.

🤲 Continuing the Learning
Our first Al-Aafiyah training brought together hundreds of educators and school professionals to explore neurodiversity, supportive classroom environments, student mental health, and staff wellbeing.
Now, we’re continuing that learning together.
Because creating healthier schools requires more than responding when something goes wrong - it requires equipping the adults surrounding our students with the knowledge, language, and tools to recognize what is happening and respond meaningfully.
We look forward to welcoming you back for Part 2, InshaAllah.
