Led by Harsh Dadhich, GitHub Campus Expert, students will explore the fundamentals of open-source development. Specifically, on how to manage a codebase using Git. We'll cover core topics like repositories, branching, GitHub, collaboration, and deployment. By the end, participants will have the tools essential to get started on participating in a software development environment.
To participate in the workshop, students must
Reserve their spot through Luma (If unable to attend, students must change their RSVP accordingly. Students who RSVP but do not attend may be ineligible fur future opportunities/workshops)
Create a GiHub account
Have a local Git installation (any IDE works)
Harsh is a current junior studying Computer Science at UC Santa Cruz and likes to build applicable tools by leveraging open-source to deploy them. He's also taken part in research labs from social computing to genomics and worked an internship in the medical device industry
