About Event

** This is a LIVE session and will not be recorded. **

Our Editor Hours are part live editing session, part ask-me-anything. Bring your questions or your work-in-progress and get individualised feedback from an expert editor.

This week, we're joined by editor Roxy Bourdillon.

You can submit:

  • A question about craft, editing, or the publication process.

  • An excerpt of your work for live editorial feedback (please upload up to 700 words in the Comments below).

If you’d like Roxy to give live feedback on your work, please make sure your submission is within her area of expertise. Roxy is particularly experienced in:

  • Personal essays and memoir, especially those exploring sexuality, identity, and self-discovery

  • Journalism and magazine writing — pitching, crafting, and editing pieces for mainstream and LGBTQIA+ publications

  • Editorial insight from her role as Editor-in-Chief of DIVA, the world’s leading magazine for LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people

👉 Writers may submit personal essays, memoir excerpts, or pitches connected to these areas for live feedback. Questions about writing, editing, or publishing in Roxy’s areas of expertise are also welcome.

How It Works

1️⃣ Submit Your Questions or Work for Feedback: Ticket holders will receive instructions on submitting questions upon purchase.
2️⃣ Show Up Live: Join us on Zoom for a 60-minute, ask-me-anything-style session.
3️⃣ Listen & Learn: Watch editors answer questions, share insider advice, and offer live feedback.

⚠️ Please note: While we aim to address as many submissions as possible, attendance and ticket purchase does not guarantee feedback. Priority feedback goes to London Writers’ Salon members (Silver and Gold). If time permits, we will turn to questions from ticketed attendees.

Perks for Gold Members 🏆

  • Priority Feedback: Gold members’ questions and query letters will be addressed first.

  • Recorded Insights: Can’t make it live? Gold members can submit their questions in advance and receive a private recording.

👉 Not a Gold member yet? Find out more about Gold Membership here.
