Planning for Succession to Employee Ownership
If you're the owner of a business, you understand that succession isn't just about numbers - it’s about people, purpose, and preserving what you’ve built.
Join us for a practical and eye-opening session on transition options that keep your business locally owned, operated and thriving in your community for the next generation of ownership.
One new employee buyout option now available in Canada: the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) - a succession strategy that allows you to sell your business to your team, while protecting your legacy and potentially qualifying for a $10M capital gains tax exemption. This benefit is also open to worker co-operatives.
Hear from Pete Walker of Boughton Riverview Consulting, and Josh Golden of TXI to learn how employee buyouts are designed to enable an exit that combines a fair price with safeguarding the legacy of the business - with the opportunity to have the first $10M in capital gains tax exempted.
Whether you're planning for transition in 5 years or just starting to think about your (inevitable!) exit, this is one conversation no business owner should miss.
