About Event

Join us for a cosy, soulful evening at Almari Coffee as we welcome acclaimed author and travel writer, Tharik Hussain.

In his groundbreaking work, Muslim Europe: A Journey in Search of a Fourteen Hundred Year History, Tharik challenges the common misconception that Islam is a recent arrival to the continent. This isn’t just a book talk; it’s an invitation to rediscover Europe through a lens that spans over a millennium, uncovering the deep-rooted Islamic heritage that has shaped European identity for fourteen centuries.

The Experience

Hosted by our very own in-house book enthusiast, Ayesha, the night is designed to feel like a living room conversation among friends.

The Discussion: Ayesha will lead an engaging Q&A with Tharik, exploring his quest to document a history that spans from the Mediterranean to the Baltic, revealing a forgotten past and a vibrant present.

The Flavours: No evening at Almari is complete without our signature comforts. Your ticket includes a steaming cup of our authentic karak chai paired perfectly with our housemade rusk biscuits for that nostalgic, home-away-from-home crunch.

The Setting: We’re keeping things intimate. Expect low lighting, warm aromas, and plenty of space for audience questions and reflections.

Tharik Hussain takes readers on a journey through time and geography, showing that the story of Islam in Europe is not one of "otherness," but one of foundational presence. From grand architecture to subtle cultural influences, the book uncovers the 1,400-year-old threads that weave Muslim identity into the very heart of the continent.
