Money Talks for the Girls: a conversation about building financial confidence
Manasi Patel is a financial representative building her practice in New York City. Her mission is to help close the gap in financial knowledge and confidence that many women experience, while creating a space where people feel comfortable asking questions, learning the fundamentals, and making informed financial decisions.
She'll lead the educational portion of the evening and answer attendee questions about financial planning, building financial security, protecting what matters most, and creating a roadmap for future goals.
Let's be honest: personal finance can feel unnecessarily intimidating.
There are terms you've heard but don't fully understand. Acronyms everyone seems to know. Financial decisions that seem important but never urgent enough to tackle. Questions that feel too basic to ask because you think you're supposed to know the answers by now.
This evening is for those questions.
We'll cover practical financial concepts and financial terms in simple English that everyone will know by the end of the event, including:
- Building a strong financial foundation; cash flow, net worth, saving, debt, and goal setting.
- Protecting your income, family, and future and building an emergency fund and reducing financial stress.
- Planning for major life goals and long-term financial security using a roadmap
- Creating a financial plan that grows with you, for life’s major milestones, ever changing priorities and goals.
Then we'll open the floor.
Bring the question you've been Googling. The financial terms you've been pretending to understand when your friend mentioned it. The money conversation you've been meaning to have with yourself but keep putting off.
No judgment. No jargon. No question is too basic.
Come after work. Meet great people. Leave understanding money a little better and a few practical next steps to build greater financial confidence.
