Fireside Chat with Derek Kan and Geoff Rehnert

​Please join the Stanford Finance and ASES for a fireside chat with Derek Kan (Shopify, USPS, Bain) and Audax Group’s Geoff Rehnert.

​Geoffrey Rehnert is Co-Founder, Co-Chairman, and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Audax Group and Executive Chairman of Audax Private Equity. Along with his business partner, Marc Wolpow, Mr. Rehnert manages Audax Group and has overseen all phases of Audax Group’s development since its founding in 1999. Prior to co-founding Audax Group, Mr. Rehnert helped to start Bain Capital, where he was a General Partner and then a Managing Director. While at Bain Capital, Mr. Rehnert helped to initiate Bain Capital’s leveraged acquisition efforts, served on the boards of over 25 portfolio companies, and established the firm’s middle market-focused deal generation and relationship development efforts. Mr. Rehnert received a J.D. from Stanford Law School, and he received an A.B. with Honors in Economics from Duke University.

​Derek Kan is a public company director and former senior federal official. He sits on the boards of Fortinet, Toll Brothers, Globe Life, and Oklo, and serves as Vice Chairman of the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors. He is a senior advisor to Shopify and guest lectures at Stanford GSB and USC. Derek started as a management consultant at Bain & Company after earning his MBA at Stanford GSB, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He then ran Lyft’s Southern California business and later served as Chief Business Officer at Deliverr, which Shopify acquired in 2022. He went on to lead business operations, marketing, and customer support at Shopify. Derek also served as Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy and then as Deputy Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. The Senate confirmed him four times across three Administrations. He holds a B.S. from USC, an M.S. from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Stanford GSB.
