Join Darren Wu in Sydney for International Generalist Day - a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 2nd, 2025.
This year we have events across 30+ countries and 80+ locations!
Darren is celebrating one year of Generalist World events in Sydney! Join fellow generalists for evening drinks while swapping squiggly career stories and sharing advice on career journeys, portfolio careers, and solopreneur/entrepreneurship. The vibe is "raise your ask, and we'll try to help" not "passive pitch fest" - valuing collaboration over sales and support over self-promotion.
What is a generalist? Professionals who apply their skills across multiple domains, connect disparate ideas, or serve as "translators" between different teams and disciplines. If you've ever felt your career doesn't fit in a single box, this celebration is for you.

Your host Darren is the MacGyver and (beam me up) Scotty of data and tech - a trained space engineer leading mission critical projects with resourcefulness and pragmatism whilst remaining cool under chaos. His favorite part about being a generalist? "I'm intensely curious and love making things happen. Many of my leadership roles have given me opportunity to indulge both."
As Darren shares: "After hosting many GW events since the first IGD in 2024, it's always exciting meeting new people and seeing/hearing the relief of people discovering themselves and that there are people who just 'get' them."
