About Event

On September 25, Prompt to Premiere brings creators together for a fast-paced AI filmmaking competition presented as part of official Tulsa Tech Week programming.

The day begins with a conversation between Kenya Parham, Chief Growth Officer at SPILL, and Vondell J. Burns about visibility, audience, and why certain stories get seen. King Willonius, the AI filmmaker and musician named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People in AI, then teaches a live 90-minute workshop on creating a film with AI from start to finish, before a single prompt is released.

At noon, three prompts drop—each connected to a real Tulsa business or community program. Choose one or enter more than once. Your challenge is to create an original film that moves viewers to engage with the featured organization.

You have until 10 PM CST to take your idea from prompt to premiere using AI throughout the creative process. Films may be no longer than 60 seconds.

No finished script. No pre-produced footage. Just a prompt, your perspective, and the clock.

No prior AI filmmaking experience is required. Learn in the morning. Ship by ten.

Compete in person from our Tulsa production room or virtually from anywhere in the country. The morning conversation and workshop will be streamed so every participant begins with the same instruction.

Filmmakers, writers, designers, animators, musicians, technologists, marketers, and curious first-timers are all invited.

What can you create in a single day?

Schedule

10:00 – 10:30 AM — Opening panel. Hybrid/Streamed.

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM — Live workshop: making a film with AI, concept through edit. Hybrid/Streamed.

12:00 PM — Three prompts drop. Choose one, or enter more than one.

12:00 – 3:00 PM — Build in the Tulsa production room, mentors on the floor. Virtual participants build from wherever they are.

3:00 PM — The Tulsa room closes. Keep building from anywhere.

10:00 PM — Submissions close. Film posted to SPILL, entry form completed.

Saturday, September 26 — Community engagement surfaces the top twenty. The jury scores. The winner is announced at House x Haus, streamed on SPILL.

How to enter

  1. Register by Sept 21. The week leading up to the event you will received resources to help you prepare.

  2. Choose a prompt when the three drop at noon on September 25.

  3. Post your film with #PromptToPremiere26 before 10 PM.

  4. Submit the entry form. A film posted without a completed form stays on the platform but isn't eligible for judging.

There's one grand prize. More entries means more chances to place, though a creator can only win once.

How winning works

Community engagement across entries surfaces the top twenty films.

A jury of five scores. The winner is announced Saturday, September 26 at House x Haus and streamed on SPILL.

What you'll need

In person: a laptop, charger, headphones, and access to the creative tools you plan to use.

Virtual: a reliable internet connection, plus your own equipment, software, accounts, and workspace.

Full competition rules, submission requirements, and event-day instructions go out to registered participants before the event.

Space in the Tulsa room is limited. Register early to hold your seat.
