About Event

Could psychedelics and new trailblazing technology startups solve our mental health crisis?

Gather with us on Wednesday, August 17 to celebrate a critical turning point: The Psychedelic Renaissance is here and it’s making waves in medicine, tech, and wider culture.

Hosted on iconic Abbot Kinney, you’ll step through a hidden entrance and join an immersive networking experience filled with poignant speakers, sound healing, psychedelic NFTs, educational content, plant-based food & an array of bevvies; plus, pop over to the back patio and join a watch party for Netflix’s provocative new docuseries on psychedelics, How to Change Your Mind. This four-episode limited series is based on bestselling author Michael Pollan’s book by the same name.

+ More information on Psychedelics x HealthTech:

The global mental health market is valued at $88B, with the global antidepressant market valued at $15B alone. For this reason, we believe that mental wellbeing is the biggest investment opportunity for the coming decade.

We’re facing one of the biggest health crises in history—a ballooning mental health problem that’s taking a grip on society. It’s believed that 1 in 4 and 1 in 6 adults live with a mental illness. There’s an urgent need for new solutions. The gap widens every day between the demand for mental health treatment and the reach of existing treatments and clinics. We should be looking towards innovative approaches, combining alternative treatments and technology that can provide long-lasting, holistic care to those undergoing pain or suffering.

There’s been exciting growth in the startup space around psychedelics. In 2020, MindMed became the first psychedelics pharmaceutical company to go public, now with a market valuation of $1.14B. Field Trip combines drug development and clinics in the psychedelics space, and to date has raised $20M. We’ve also seen startups applying technology to support and enhance the psychedelic experience, like VR meditation startup Tripp which raised $11M earlier this year. (Maddyness)

If you’re RSVPing for this event, you understand how important it is that we have honest, meaningful conversations with the two in three Americans who don’t yet understand that psychedelics, with appropriate harm reduction modalities in place, can be important tools for healing, wellness, spiritual experiences, and connection.
