CARF & Amended CRS: From Regulatory Requirements to Operational Readiness
CARF & Amended CRS: From Regulatory Requirements to Operational Readiness
4 November 2026 | 12:30–3:00 PM | PwC Hong Kong
Hosted by Taxbit & PwC Hong Kong
CARF and the amended CRS are rapidly moving from regulatory design into implementation. The question for financial institutions and digital asset businesses is no longer simply “what do the rules require?”, but “how do we make them work in practice?”
We are bringing together industry participants in Hong Kong for a practical, interactive roundtable focused on the operational realities of implementation.
The discussion will explore how institutions are approaching:
scope across entities, products and jurisdictions;
due diligence, self-certification and remediation of pre-existing customers;
customer, asset and transaction data readiness;
asset and transaction classification;
tokenisation, stablecoins and the interaction between CARF and the amended CRS;
reporting architecture, controls and auditability; and
programme ownership, technology dependencies and implementation sequencing.
We will also compare where institutions are today, which regulatory questions are still affecting implementation decisions, and which issues need to be solved now versus those that can reasonably wait for further guidance.
This is designed as a working discussion rather than a series of presentations. The session will be held under the Chatham House Rule, with no recording, to encourage a candid exchange of approaches, challenges and lessons learned among participants.
Schedule
12.30–1pm: Welcome refreshments & networking
1–3pm: Roundtable discussion
The objective is simple: to leave participants with a clearer view of how peers are approaching implementation, what the critical workstreams and dependencies are, and what institutions should be prioritising now to reduce implementation risk.
