Creationship Brain Trust - Governance Meeting

​A potluck gathering in Tompkins Square Park to talk about where The Creationship goes from here — the format, the governing structure, and the future we want to co-create together.

​The Creationship has been running on emergent leadership (Brandon, Ben, Michelle holding it loosely), and it's time to evolve that into something more intentional. Not because emergence isn't working, but because what's emerging deserves a structure that can hold it.

​We'll be getting granular — what roles do people want to play, what commitments are they ready to make, and how do we want to move this group forward as we head into summer.

​Bring a dish to share, your honest take, and your willingness to shape what's next.

​Arrival & Setup (30 min) Blankets out, food spread, people trickling in. No rush.

​Gratitudes (25 min) A round — one thing you're grateful for from your time with The Creationship so far. Goes longer than you'd think with a full circle.

​Where We Are — Ben (20 min) Ben on the current state: how things have been held, what the emergent leadership model has looked like in practice, and why we're opening up the question of structure now. Space for clarifying questions after.

​What's Working (25 min) Open round. What's alive here? What should we protect and carry forward?

​What's Not Working (25 min) What's been clunky, unclear, frustrating, or missing? What have you wanted to say but haven't had the container for?

​Break / Refill Plates (15 min) Stretch, eat more, sidebar conversations. Resets the energy before the heavier section.

​Roles, Commitments & Next Steps (90 min) The heart of the gathering, broken into phases:

• ​Surfacing roles needed (20 min) — group brainstorm of what functions are required to move The Creationship forward (stewardship, programming, communications, space-holding, finances, outreach, etc.). Write them all down.

• ​Self-nomination & commitments (45 min) — people claim roles they want to play, talk through what that means concretely, what they're actually committing to in time and energy.

• ​Summer cadence (15 min) — how we want to operate through summer specifically: frequency, format, decision-making.

• ​Landing decisions (10 min) — what's decided tonight, what needs follow-up, who's holding what next step.

​Closing Round (15 min) One word or sentence each: what are you taking with you?

​Lingering / Cleanup (15 min) Pack up, hug it out, the people who want to keep talking keep talking.
