Speed Churning: Honoring Ed π₯
βWe've got a bit of a different format for speed churning this month.
βEd, who helped organize our inaugural TDC meetup last Sept, has passed away. We have been trying to reach him ever since he sent us this message the night before our meetup last year -
βI was finally able to track him down - it looks like he never made it out of the hospital, and passed away a week later ππ
βIf you attended our meetup last year, all the planning for Friday dinners, including the restaurant signup sheets, where to meet, what time to meet, who to meet, was done by Ed.
βEd and I probably spent over 20 hours on Discord video calls leading up to the event reviewing venues, restaurants and brainstorming ideas to make the first TDC meetup as amazing as it was.
βI'm dedicating this Friday's speed churning to Ed. For those who knew him, whether online or in-person, and those who didn't, I know he would have loved to see ya one last time.
βWe will have time to share memories and stories of Ed, and the prompts for our 1-on-1 and small group randomized matches will be themed around this idea of perspective and clarity that loss can provide...
βIf you knew you were going to die soon, what would you do, right now?
βHow would you spend your time, and with whom?
βWhat would you churn, if anything?
β
βRIP Ed, we'll miss ya at TDC26 π₯Ήπ«
