​Rap Against Rikers is a thought-provoking, family-friendly gathering that uses the power of music, spoken word, and community organizing to demand the closure of Rikers Island and the rebuilding of a just system.

​Attendees will enjoy:

​Live performances by diverse artists

​Speeches from formerly incarcerated individuals, advocates, and youth leaders

​Vendors offering food, art, legal resources, and family activities

​Sponsor booths from bail funds, mental health collectives, and reentry programs

​The event includes a powerful 1-minute silent mic for each person still detained at Rikers, followed by a collective community cheer for their freedom and return home.

​Merchandise — will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds supporting legal aid and family reunification.

​We are Accepting Performers, Vendors, Sponsors, and Speakers. We are expecting them to come from NYC, PA, NJ, and more!
